The logo design was inspired by Murano Island in Venice, famous for its tradition in glassmaking and stained-glass artistry. At its center, the logo features the silhouette of the iconic Venetian gondola, a symbol of elegance, movement, and timeless cultural identity. This combination connects Bella’s ceramic language to the delicate craftsmanship and visual poetry of Venetian heritage.

The creation of the ceramics followed a precise and layered process. Each step honored both structure and tactility, combining modern fabrication tools with hands-on craftsmanship.
We began by modeling the form in Rhinoceros 3D. This model was then cut into MDF using a CNC Router, creating the base mold. Next, we developed a silicone mold from the MDF model, followed by a plaster mold — the final negative used to craft the ceramic plate in clay.
The ceramic plate went through a meticulous multi-step firing process. First, we performed a bisque firing, which removes all remaining moisture from the clay and hardens the form, preparing it for glazing. Then, we applied two different glazes that required different temperatures: one was fired at high temperature, giving the piece strength and a more durable finish; the other underwent a low-temperature glaze firing, which allowed for delicate surface effects and color depth. This careful combination of firings gave the final piece both structural integrity and a rich visual texture.
The surface design of the ceramic plate was crafted entirely by hand, adding a unique tactile quality and reinforcing its artisanal essence. I was responsible for the 3D modeling and CNC preparation in Rhinoceros, as well as making the physical product and designing the handcrafted surface pattern.
